Dimensioning of a sportscar monocoque chassis with ACP Print E-mail

The dimensioning of composite structures can be complex as it involves the definition of numerous layers, materials, thicknesses and orientations. The analysis can be equally challenging as stresses, deformations and a range of failure criteria need to be considered. Ansys Composite PrepPost (ACP) provides all the necessary functionalities to analyze layered composite structures.
The magazine Lightweight Design (3/13) featured an article on the design the KTM X-Bow with ACP. The first version of sports car was designed without ACP. The design of monocoque was re-evaluated at a later stage with ACP to identify areas of improvement. The use of ACP helped KTM reduce the weight of the monocoque by 20% for the same requirements.

Wedding Oli&RikkeOliver König, cofounder of EVEN AG, said yes to Rikke Anderson at St. Cassian Chapel in Sils Domleschg on Saturday, September 28th. Best weather delighted the bridal couple, their kids Oskar and Arthur, and the wedding guests.

Right after the official YES, Oli took the newly wedded wife in full wedding outfit on a ride across country on a slightly modified 125ccm - a sight to see and a sound to hear! A delicious aperitif was then served at the gorgeous Castle Ortenstein.

Composite Academy 2013 Print E-mail

CADEFM CH and the IKT institute of Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz FHNW arrange the 4th Composite Summer Academy taking place at Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz in Windisch. The seminar from September 23-27 2013 covers these topics:

  • Laminate theory
  • Construction
  • Simulation with ANSYS Composite PrepPost
  • Testing
  • Comparison of test and FE simulation results

René Roos from EVEN gives the lectures on theory of composite materials and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). First the basics of the Classical Laminate Theory and FEA are discussed. In addition, ANSYS Composite PrepPost is introduced to evaluate the stiffness and strength of the construction.

EVEN becomes part of the ANSYS family Print E-mail


We are very excited to announce that as of April 2, 2013 EVEN is now part of the international ANSYS family. You may know ANSYS as a world leader in engineering simulation technology and services. EVEN and ANSYS have been collaborating since 2008. Based on its knowledge and expertise in composite analysis EVEN developed the ANSYS Composite PrepPost (ACP) and has been shipping it to ANSYS customers since. Given the synergy of the teams, the common goals and the fruitful collaboration it became clear that much can be gained from taking the  EVEN-ANSYS partnership to the next level.
